For example, in the first half of this year, some users found that Microsoft uses IP to check location information in the weather widget, while GPS is used as a standard in the weather application, so this widget is almost useless.

According to reports, Microsoft recently updated the Windows Widgets design, which brings higher location accuracy. In addition, you can now see Windows display a location icon in the notification area when using the Weather widget, indicating that Windows Widgets is using your precise location to provide accurate weather forecasts.

Moreover, Microsoft has previously admitted that there is a bug in the Win11 weather reading and is currently working on a fix.
