Microsoft Windows 11 widget icons now support dynamic notifications

Microsoft announced yesterday that the widget icon of Windows 11 ushered in the dynamic notification function, allowing users to view real-time updates from other widgets, such as sports, finance, breaking news, etc.

The current Windows 11 taskbar widget icon can only display weather information, but after the new feature goes live, the icon will be displayed as notification information in real-time, such as the thunderstorm warning below. The icon can even display notifications when the stock goes up or down.

Microsoft says these notifications are designed to be quick and clear at a glance, with a click to quickly open details. If the user doesn’t interact with them, the widget icon will return to showing the weather.

However, there is currently no filtering option for this feature, and users cannot choose which widgets to block from notifications. Users need to update Windows 11 to the latest official version, and then update the Windows Web Experience Pack from the Microsoft App Store, which is expected to take several weeks to be fully pushed.

In addition, Windows 11 is about to usher in the 22H2 major version update, which will bring many changes. It is reported that it will be fully pushed on September 20.
