Samsung China Semiconductor’s net profit fell sharply in the first half of 2022: Report
According to BusinessKorea, two major semiconductor manufacturers, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, currently have three domestic subsidiaries engaged in the semiconductor business, but in the context of still strong demand for semiconductor components, these three company’s profits fell significantly in the first half of the year.

Samsung Electronics has two semiconductor subsidiaries in China, located in Xi’an and Shanghai. South Korean media said in the report that Samsung Electronics released the annual report of its semiconductor business unit on Thursday, local time.
The report shows that the semiconductor company in Xi’an had revenue of 4.86 trillion won in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 54.8%, but the net profit of 321.64 billion won, less than half of the 766.651 billion won in the same period last year, a year-on-year decline of 58.1%.
Samsung Electronics Shanghai-based semiconductor company, whose main business is the sales of semiconductors and panels, reported a net profit of 138.26 billion won in the first half of the year, which was not as good as 175.73 billion in the same period last year, down 21% year-on-year. Sales also fell 13.6% to 1.3 trillion won compared to the same period last year.
SK Hynix’s semiconductor company, which mainly produces DRAM, suffered a net loss of 276.59 billion won in the first half of the year, an increase from the same period last year.
