A prototype of Optimus Prime will be unveiled on AI Day this year, and Tesla says the robot will operate using the eight cameras used by its Autopilot system, as well as a screen on its head in order to interact with humans.
Musk said that if the “Optimus Prime” can be mass-produced in the next two years, under the scale effect, its cost is lower than that of a car, and the price may be 25,000 US dollars. Optimus Prime is a new concept introduced by Musk at the first Tesla AI Day event on August 19 last year.
