Google Fitbit releases Sense 2 and Versa 4 smartwatches

In January last year, Google officially acquired the smartwatch manufacturer Fitbit. Today, Fitbit released two smartwatches, the Sense 2 and Versa 4, but these two smartwatches are still not equipped with Google Wear OS.

The Versa 4 smartwatch features fitness-focused features with 40 sports modes, including additional weightlifting, HIIT (high-intensity interval training), dance, and more. With a Fitbit Premium membership, users have access to over 1,000 workouts and mental training.

The Sense 2 smartwatch has a built-in CEDA (Electrodermal Activity) sensor that supports all-day electrodermal activity monitoring and assesses user stress. When the user is too stressed, the Sense 2 smartwatch will alert the user and recommend different methods such as guided breathing and mindfulness classes to reduce the user’s stress.

Compared with the previous generation of Fitbit Sense and Versa 3, the Sense 2 and Versa 4 smartwatches released this time have become lighter and thinner. The size of the Fitbit Sense 2 is 40.5 × 40.5 × 12.3 mm, and the size of the Versa 4 is 40.5 mm × 40.5 × 11.2 mm.

System-wise, both the Sense 2 and Versa 4 will continue to use the Fitbit operating system but add Google Maps (turn-by-turn navigation) and Google Wallet, two important apps. However, the first users cannot use these two programs immediately and need to wait for subsequent software updates.

In terms of battery life, Fitbit claims that the two smartwatches will provide more than 6 days of battery life, and only need a 12-minute charge for a day of use.

Compared with the touch design of the previous generation, the Sense 2 and Versa 4 smartwatches have added a long physical button on the left side, and the feedback is clearer. In addition, both smartwatches have NFC and GPS positioning, and both support connections to Android and iOS systems.

In addition to smartwatches, Fitbit also released a new bracelet, Inspire 3, which supports heart rate, sleep, and stress tracking, provides up to 10 days of battery life, and costs 99.95 euros. The Fitbit Sense 2 body has three colors black, silver, and gold. It is now available for pre-order, priced at 299.95 euros, and will be shipped before September 29.

The Versa 4 watch body has three colors black, silver, and gold. It has also been pre-ordered, priced at 229.95 euros, and will also be shipped at the end of September.
