Tesla will introduce a third shift 8-hour shift production group at its super factory in Berlin, Germany in December this year, which means that the factory will be open all day 24 hours a day production schedule.

Currently, Tesla’s Berlin factory production time is from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm, with two shift production teams responsible for producing 1,200 to 1,500 Model Ys per week. By adding a third shift, production at the plant is expected to increase to 5,000 vehicles per week by early 2023.
“The plant has been operating on two shifts since the end of May and will switch to three shifts by the end of this year,” said Jörg Steinbach, the Minister of Economic Affairs in Brandenburg, Germany.
The Tesla factory in Germany reached the important mark of 1,000 Model Ys per week in June. At the same time, observers say, the Texas Gigafactory also reached this rate shortly after the opening of Grünheide.
Tesla’s chief financial officer, Zachary Kirkhorn, said that despite losing more production in the third quarter than expected, Tesla is still on track to reach 50% capacity growth this year. While this goal has become more difficult, it is still possible with strong execution.
