Samsung testing next-generation Google Tensor and Exynos 1380 SoC: Report
As we all know, Samsung helped Google build Tensor series chipsets for smartphones, tablets, etc. The first-generation Tensor processor used in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro is an improved version of the Exynos 2100. Now, the news is that Samsung is testing several new chipsets, one of which could be a new Tensor processor.

According to a new report, Samsung is testing two new chipsets. One of them could be the successor to the Exynos 1280, expected to be named Exynos 1380. The model number of the other chipset is S5P9865, which may be the next-generation Google Tensor chipset. The guess is that the model number of the first-generation Tensor processor is S5P9845.
Since the S5P9865 (codenamed “Zum”) is being tested on a development board codenamed “Ripcurrent”, it may not be the Tensor 2 used in the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, the report said. Tensor 2 was tested on a development board code-named “Cloudripper”. Therefore, the new Tensor chipset is likely to be used in the Pixel 8 series.
Samsung is also testing a chipset with model number S5E8835, which, judging by its model number, could be the successor to the Exynos 1280 used in various mid-range Galaxy smartphones, and guesswork could be the Exynos 1380, which is expected to be used in 2023 some mid-range Galaxy smartphones.
