How to encrypt Facebook Messenger chats?
- First of all, you have to open your Facebook Messenger app.
- If it’s only our homescreen, launch it from there. Once that is done, you will need to create a new group chat. Tap on the pencil icon in the upper right corner.
- On the next page, you’ll find the lock symbol in the same location, in the upper-right corner. Tap it to enable encryption.
- Once that is done, you need to tap on the option ‘Create group chat‘, after which you will see the available contacts below. Just choose the people you want to join the conversation.
- Once you have selected all the contacts you want, you will see a ‘Next‘ button in the top-right corner.
- On the next screen, you will need to name your new group chat.
- After locating the name, tap on the ‘Create‘ button in the top-right corner.
- There you have it, you have created your first encrypted group chat. Everything you write in it will be end-to-end encrypted.
