Amlogic released the first 8K ultra-high-definition smart set-top box SoC S928X. Amlogic S928X integrates ARM Cortex-A76 and ARM Cortex-A55, as well as a self-developed AI processor, supports 8Kp60 video decoding function of global mainstream video formats such as AV1, H.265, VP9, ​​AVS3, AVS2, supports 4K GUI, AI-SR, and other functions.

The official said that Amlogic S928X performs better for consumers in the environment of 8K ultra-high-definition resolution 7680*4320, 60FPS frame rate, and 10-bit depth colors. Stunning color saturation, more delicate and clear image quality, and image processing capabilities with a strong sense of depth and texture.

Moreover, Amlogic’s S928X supports 8Kp60 video processing capabilities in the world’s mainstream video formats such as AV1, H.265, VP9, ​​AVS3, and AVS2. It has built-in full-featured HDMI2.1a and supports eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel), and VRR (variable refresh rate).

Furthermore, it has come with a dedicated technology which is ALLM (Auto Low-latency Mode), QMS (Quick Media Switching), QFT (Quick Frame Transport) fast frame rate mode, DSC1.2 (Display Stream Compression), SBTM (Source-Based Tone Mapping) and other technologies, which can further reduce the screen delay and make the image content more delicate and clear.
