Samsung Galaxy S23 series launched with some outstanding hardware inside. The camera department includes a high megapixel number at the back of the phones. However, the Galaxy S23 and S23+ are now facing a serious camera bug, which could be a hardware issue, and will need a replacement of product.
The issue is not limited to a few users, several Galaxy S23 and S23+ users are facing a (possible) hardware defect with their phone’s camera that the company has not yet acknowledged.

What is the issue? Except for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the other two devices are seeing a blurry and smudged spot on all photos taken from the 50MP primary camera in landscape orientation. The blurry area mostly on the left side makes captured photos unusable. Check the attached image below.
According to a survey by a German forum, 75 out of 82 respondents are affected by this issue. While Italian forum survey also shows 17 out of 25 people have this problem. It is important to know that the Galaxy S23 and S23+ are facing the issue, the S23 Ultra with 200MP doesn’t have such a blurry picture.
Some affected users reached out to Samsung for the service/fix, but they didn’t get any solution. The company returned the devices back to their owner without fixing them. Samsung hasn’t accepted that this is a hardware defect, instead, it says that’s a characteristic of the big camera sensor that delivers a DSLR-like bokeh effect.
Samsung recently rolled out camera specific software update for the Galaxy S23 series users, but it hasn’t changed anything to this issue.
Many Galaxy S23/S23+ have an hardware issue on the main camera that causes permanent blurred and smudged spots, Samsung refuses to aknowledge the issue and fix it.
