First look at Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, design renders, and 360 video

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 high-resolution renders emerge for the first time on the internet, courtesy of well-known tipster Onleaks in collaboration with SmartPrix. The source revealed official-like renders of the Z Fold 5 smartphone which are close to reality.

Interestingly, renders show, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 doesn’t follow the 2023 signature design language of ditching the camera bump. The rear camera setup is quite identical to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Fold 3. Meanwhile, the droplet hinge is going to make the next Samsung foldable amazing, let’s explore.

Per the info, when folded, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 could measure 154.9 x 129.9 x 6.3mm, and the folded dimensions will be 154.9 x 67.1 x 13.5mm. The 13.4mm thickness makes Fold 5 feel slimmer than its predecessor which ranged from 14.2mm to 15.8mm due to the hinge gap.

Samsung’s new droplet hinge design is helping the Galaxy Z Fold 5 become slimmer and lighter than previous models. The grown middle frame is designed to stick with the folding mechanism, as part of refining the consumers’ grip when the phone is folded.

In Fold 4, the LED flash was placed under the vertically aligned triple rear camera setup, which shifted to the top right side of the camera bump in Fold 5. It appears like the place vacated by the LED flash is used to enlarge the camera rings as Samsung did in the S23 Ultra.

Apart from this, there’s nothing left in the design renders, which are created on the basis of dimensions revealed in leaks. Droplet hinge not only makes the phone slimmer but also reduces the display’s crease as you may have seen in some Chinese foldable phone promotions.

Seeing the track of the source of renders, Samsung’s official Galaxy Z Fold 5 will look like these leaked renders. Smartphone designs usually get finalized months ago prior to entering mass production, and we hope, more design renders will come in the near future giving us closer in-depth look at changes.
