Verizon freshens the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, Note 20 series, and Z Fold 2 with April 2023 update in the US. The carrier refreshed its software page, confirming the latest releases for some of the best Samsung smartphones sold in the United States.

According to info, Verizon April 2023 update provides performance improvements and the most up-to-date Android security patches on the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, Note 20 series, and Z Fold 2. However, the firmware may not be limited to security improvements.

Per a Reddit thread, the Verizon update comes with Camera and Gallery-related improvements to the Galaxy S22 series. The international models have received new camera features like Star Trails, enhanced RAW photography, immediate photo deletion, and High Bitrate video format.

It’s worth mentioning that the European April 2023 release brings the Image Clipper feature to various Galaxy devices. And we suggest Verizon consumers try out the image cutout feature on their device post-April firmware installation. Here’s how to update manually:

  • Open Settings >> Software update >> Download and install >> Install now / Restart

May 2023 updates

It’s worth mentioning that the OEM has already started serving the May 2023 security patch to Galaxy devices. The Galaxy A10e became the first phone to grab the most up-to-date Android patches, while we didn’t spot expansion of this latest patch OTA.

Samsung’s security bulletin page is currently showing the April 2023 patch details, which could get refreshed in the first week of May. The company’s best flagship phones such as the Galaxy S23, S22, S21, S20, and Note 20 will get the May 2023 update alongside the Z3 and Z4 series foldable phones.
