This is a new achievement by the Chinese maker and signifies its strength among consumers. In the list, Apple comes on top with a 20.8% market share, and Vivo holds second spot with a 19 percent market share. Oppo has the third rank with a 12.9% share and Xiaomi has an 11.1% market share in China.
Huawei P40 Pro:
The data also reveals the top 20 5G smartphones according to the market sales until 2023. Apple has garnered all top five spots with iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. But the sixth and seventh spots are covered by our Huawei P40 Pro and P40 respectively. Even the latest iPhone 14 Pro Max comes after Huawei P40 devices.
Why Huawei stopped making 5G phones:
Following the launch of the Huawei Mate 40 series, Huawei can’t launch a new 5G smartphone due to the lack of the required 5G component. Although, Huawei can arrange 4G chipsets from other chipset companies such as Qualcomm. However, it cannot active 5G network access.
Since 2021, Huawei is bound to only unveil 4G smartphones including flagship phones that are solely launching with 4G connectivity.
However, the data for the first quarter of this year shows that Huawei has achieved growth in the smartphone market without 5G models. Also, industry analyst believes that Huawei’s smartphone market in China will continue to increase by this year.
