Google Pixel phone users have been dealing with a strange storage access issue after the Android 14 upgrade. Eventually, the version restricted them from using stored files and data on the device. On the flip side, it hampered the multiple user profiles capability.
Notably, the issue mainly occurred on the Pixel 6 series including the classic, Pro, and A-tagged models as well as newer handsets. As a result, the respective phone holders could not use the device storage, access any essential files, or utilize the user profiles feature.

Responding to the defect, Google shared how it is working on a fix and data recovery options. The company has already pushed off a new Play System update to prevent this issue from triggering on additional devices. Hence, you should install it by following these steps:

- Scroll down and tap on Security & Privacy
- Click on System & Update
- Select the Google Play system update, and grab the latest version
Ahead, the tech giant is working on a system update to repair the issue and restore access to media files without requiring a factory reset.
