WhatsApp is bringing a new privacy feature that will protect your IP address in calls. Eventually, this capability will enhance call security by routing them through its servers. Besides, it will restrict scammers to determine the user’s location.

Spotted first in the Android beta 2.23.18.15 version, the Protect IP address in calls feature is currently in the development stage and available to a handful of WhatsApp beta testers. After a wider rollout, users would be able to see a white-colored toggle in settings.

How to use the access Protect IP address in calls feature?

  • Open WhatsApp on your Android or iOS phone
  • Go to the Settings section
  • Select the Privacy tab
  • Scroll down and select Calls

It is worth mentioning that the feature prompts a sentence – ‘This will reduce call quality’. Perhaps, you may face issues in call functioning after enabling the IP address protection. Although the company will soon resolve it with the next versions.
