Losing your password for X can be a major inconvenience, especially if you have important data or information stored behind the password-protected entry. Fortunately, there are several steps you can take to recover your password and regain access to your account.
How to reset a lost or forgotten X (Twitter) password?
Initially, you will require access to the phone number or email linked with the X account. Two ways can help you out with this problem:
Via Email
- Enter your email address, phone number, or X Username
- Choose the email address that you want to receive the password reset email
- Check your email inbox
- An email with a code will show up for 60 minutes
- Enter this code into the text field and click Submit
- Choose a new password
Via Text
- Click on the Forgot password?
- Enter your phone number and click Search
- Text a code to my phone ending in [XX] will appear.
- Click Continue.
- X will text you a code which will be valid for 60 minutes.
- Enter this code into the text field on the password reset page and click Submit.
- You will then be prompted to choose a new password.
