What is Photo Shuffle Lock Screen in iOS 17.1? How to activate it on your iPhone

Posted on

Apple iOS 17.1 enables iPhone users to check out different wallpapers based on time intervals using a Photo Shuffle Lock Screen. The company has already introduced the respective capability in the iOS 16 upgrade. But with the latest development, Apple has made this feature more efficient.

For your information, a user can pick from various categories based on the types of snaps detected in their Photos app library and camera roll. Although these automatic collections often remained incomplete and one can neither edit nor remove these photos.

Thanks to the iOS 17.1 upgrade, Apple now lets you pick a specific album for the Photos Shuffle lock screen. Hence, you have the control to select those images that you would like to display on the lock screen.

How to activate the iOS 17.1 Photo Shuffle Lock Screen?

  • Long-press on the lock screen
  • A gallery view will appear, click on the ‘Add’ button
  • Tap Photo Shuffle
  • Click the new Album option and select your album
  • Select Shuffle Frequency to customize how frequently you want to see a different photo.
  • Press the ‘Use Album’ button to confirm and optionally choose a color filter by swiping side-to-side.
  • Hit the Add button to start using your new lock screen.
