Google is rolling out the first update for Pixel 8 series and users are ready to download some significant improvements to these handsets. At the same time, the company has served a handful of fixes related to the user interface, touch, display, and other major aspects.
In terms of security, Pixel 8 series owners will greet the November 2023 security patch after installing the latest firmware. Moreover, the update resolves the storage access issue that has been a huge headache for users in the recent few days.
How to download the Google Pixel 8 series first update?
- Open the Settings app
- Go to the Security & Privacy section
- Select the Security Update option
- Follow the on-screen steps and wait for a few minutes
- To the available version, click on the Download button

Display & Graphics
- Fix the issue occasionally causing a green flash when the display is turning off in certain conditions.
NFC
- Fix issues occasionally causing NFC and related services to have instability in certain conditions.
System
- Fix issues occasionally causing system instability when apps request an app that is no longer installed.
- Fix for issue occasionally causing devices with multiple users enabled to show out of space or be in a reboot loop
User Interface
- Fix the issue occasionally causing desktop icons to disappear after unlocking a device.
- Fix the issue occasionally causing the wallpaper to be misaligned for devices with a notch or hole punch camera.
Touch
- Fix for issue occasionally causing screen jerkiness when touch registration becomes imprecise.
Note that these fixes may vary depending on the Pixel models. The Android 14-based update is rolling out with the UD1A.231105.004 version, and could bring optimizations to the device performance.
