The Central government has introduced a new scheme related to wheat flour – Bharat Atta which is available for customers at an affordable cost. A major aim behind this scheme is to deliver wheat flour to every house, especially the poor and vulnerable sections of society.
It is worth mentioning that Bharat Atta is a blender of wheat, rice, and pulses. Thus, it is a good source of protein, iron, as well as other essential nutrients. As per the details, Bharat Atta wheat flour came into implementation by the Public Distribution System (PDS) to ensure easy access for the target population.
How much does Bharat Atta cost?
Notably, the government initiated a pilot sale of Bharat Atta with 18000 tonnes of wheat flour at Rs 29.50 per kg through Kendriya Bhandars, NAFED (National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India), and NCCF (National Cooperative Consumer’s Federation of India Limited). You can get the wheat flour from the highlighted stores.
Meanwhile, Piyush Goyal – the Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister showed some reduction in the price by saying:
“Now that we have tested and been successful, we decided to do a formal launch so that everyone in the country can get atta at Rs 27.50 per kg.”
The product will be available via 800 mobile vans and 2,000 outlets of these three agencies around the country.
