Google Maps carries a Commute feature on the home screen which helps users get to work safely and quickly. One can customize and save their route in the Google account. As of this, Google Maps will notify you when to leave to reach your destination on time.

On the flip side, it provides step-by-step instructions so that you may not get stuck in traffic or any other obstructions. With this feature, you will find the most optimal route and can even use it as a public transit.

How to enable the Commute feature in Google Maps?

Initially, you need to set up your home and work address in the Maps app. You also have the skip option, in case the addresses are already confirmed. Ahead:

  • Open the Google Maps app on your phone
  • Tap on the Commute option given below
  • A new window will appear, Set your location
  • Enter your address and select the correct address from the drop-down menu
  • Similarly, set your work address
  • Now set the time and days you want to commute
  • Click on Next. Here you can edit your address and other details
  • Once done, hit the Finish button
