Google is cooking up some new capabilities for the Messages app including the ‘Profiles’ feature. As the term reflects, it will enable users to set up a specific name and photo on their profile so that their friends, colleagues, and others can recognize them.
How does the Google Messages Profiles feature work?
Spotted in the beta version 20231106_01_RC00, the Profiles section offers the on/off toggles to manage Profile Sharing and Visibility. On the other hand, you can enable notifications for contact updates as well as when a new contact is available.
It seems as if the profile name and image will appear at the top of the chat screen. For the moment, tapping on it leads you to the Google Contacts app.
