What is Drag and Drop feature on Android tablets? How to use it

Posted on

The drag-and-drop feature on Android tablets is an effective way to copy or just move your content from one app to another. It is somewhat similar to the PC where we click and drag stuff with the mouse. However, here users can take the help of their fingers. All you have to do is touch and hold something until it starts following your finger.

Eventually, the tablet detects that you want to move something and shows a drag shadow of the content. Thereafter, you can shift it wherever you desire or need it.

How to use the drag-and-drop feature on Android tablets?

  • On your tablet, open the Recent Apps screen
  • Tap on the first app and select Split Screen mode
  • Now tap on the second app
  • Select the text/image you want to copy
  • Hold until it floats and follows your finger around the page
  • Drag it to the other app on the split-screen view
  • Lift your finger to drop the text/image

And it’s done. This process will automatically paste the content into the app. You can also edit the pasted text or copy it somewhere else.
