When Facebook users deactivate their accounts, no one will be able to see their profile and other relevant information. It’s not a permanent goodbye from your profile. Besides, you can still chat with your friends using the Messenger app.

How does Facebook account deactivation differ from deletion?

While deactivating your account will hide your details on the social media app temporarily, the “delete your account” tab will result in permanent closing. In case you want to leave the app or remove your presence completely from the app, then deleting your account is the right option.

Deletion erases all your data from Facebook including photos, posts, and chats with your friends. Another difference between Deactivation and Deletion is – you can reactivate your account with the former choice. However, there is no way to recover it once you delete the account.
