Google Pixel 8 Pro is a house of the latest tech components that have ultimately dragged users’ attention to them, but did you hear anything about the phone’s temperature sensor? Let’s understand what it is and how it works in the newly launched handset.

Just like any thermometer, the in-built sensor in Pixel 8 Pro can measure the temperature of any material. For instance, plastic containers, wood, metal, and more.

How does the temperature sensor in Google Pixel 8 Pro work?

Consequently, the company has forged a temperature sensor on the Pixel 8 Pro back. As the term reflects, it can determine the hot or cold condition of a surface or an object, when kept close to it (say 5cm or 2 inches). Besides, users can check the result within a dedicated app on the device.

Users can further select the type of surface or object before proceeding with the measurement step. Eventually, this adjusts the way the app reads temperature data from the rear-mounted sensor to ensure accuracy. Though results are not perfect for checking the body temperature. Yet, Google may implement this capability in the future.
