WhatsApp has widely started rolling out a significant voice chat feature for both Android and iOS users. The company is mainly bringing this addition to group conversations for simplifying communication. Instead of disturbing everyone in the group, you can initiate silent calls via the voice chat facility.
Eventually, it’s a new way to begin a conversation within the group by sending a silent push notification. Users can install the latest version of WhatsApp on their iOS and Android devices to check the availability of this new feature.
How to use the voice chat feature in WhatsApp?
According to the details, anyone can join voice chats in their groups at any time and start speaking without ringing everyone else. In case the voice chat remains empty for 60 minutes, it will end automatically. Although anyone can still begin a new voice chat at any time.
Group members not in the outgoing voice chat can see who is active in the call from the chat header and the Calls tab. Besides, it is possible to join and leave the call at any time. Concerned with privacy, these chats are end-to-end encrypted and ensure that those in the call can only listen to the content.
Notably, this feature is only available for those groups with 33 to 128 members. Though we may find it for small groups in the time ahead.
