What is high-contrast mode on Android phone? How to enable it

Posted on

High-contrast mode on Android phones is a useful accessibility feature that alters the colors used by the operating system, applications, and websites to maximize clarity on the screen. It is a helpful capability for those with vision problems or photosensitivity.

Unlike other display modes that simply apply a filter on the screen, the high-contrast mode reduces the bright shades and simplifies the colors in a User Interface. Hence, one should know how to activate the feature as per their requirements.

How to enable high-contrast mode on Android phones?

  • Open the Settings app
  • Scroll down and select Accessibility
  • Click on Visibility enhancements (Display Text on Pixel)
  • Select the Display Mode
  • Tap on the High Contrast option
  • Once done, hit the Apply button
