Apple iOS 17 not only packs amazing visual effects for the home screen but also takes care of your vision with the new Screen Distance feature. From the name, this capability alerts you to keep your device at least 12 inches away from your eyes.
While reading or watching interesting stuff, we often forget to maintain the distance between the handy gadget and our eyes. But thanks to the feature, it helps in building the habit of using your handset at a healthy gap, reducing eye strain.
Screen Distance uses the TrueDepth camera that powers Face ID to detect when you hold an iPhone closer than 12 inches for an extended period and encourages you to move it farther away.
How to enable the Screen Distance feature on Apple iOS 17 devices?
- Ensure that your iPhone has turned on the Face ID function
- Go to the Settings app
- Select the Screen Time section
- Scroll down and tap on Screen Distance
- Hit the Continue tab
- Turn on the toggle of the Screen Distance
