Google is giving a new makeover to the document scanner in the Drive app on Android. Eventually, you don’t require any external tool to perform the scanning task. Just go to Google Drive on your device and let the app take responsibility for your operations.

This significant feature lets you scan documents like receipts, letters, and bill statements to save them as searchable PDFs. Meanwhile, the new changes highlight a custom viewfinder with simplified controls rather than the default camera app.

Besides, you will find an Auto-capture mode with a new Preview interface that includes tools like Crop & Rotate, Filter, Retake, and Delete with the latest version.

How to use the document scanner in the Google Drive app?

  • Open the Google Drive app on your device
  • Click on the Add button in the Home tab
  • Tap Scan
  • Take a photo of the document you want to scan
  • You can adjust the scan area, scan another page, or re-click the picture
  • Create a title or select a suggested title
  • Hit the Save button
