What is ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) feature in earbuds? How it works

Posted on

If you are a headphone or earbuds fan then you would have surely heard of the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) feature. This capability ensures that you can enjoy your favorite music and interact efficiently on voice calls without any interruption by background noise.

How does the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) feature work?

To detect and reduce unwanted sound, ANC uses digital signal processing (DSP) chips as well as a beamforming microphone. Initially, the microphone will record the listening environment and send it to the DSP in headphones or earbuds.

Ahead, the DSP is responsible to flip the phase of the audio it receives and play it through the speakers of the audio wearable. Thus, it filters the overall sound and transmits clear and more immersive audio to your ears so that you can have an efficient experience with your earphones.
