Meta ensures that the Instagram app remains a safer place for both teens and parents. To maintain this tendency, the company introduced the Instagram Parental Supervision feature. Notably, it is a set of tools that guardians can use to help support their children (ages 13-17) on the respective application.
It is worth mentioning that supervision is optional. On the other hand, both the parent and the teen should agree to participate. In case you want to get rid of this functionality, you can remove it at any time via the steps given below.
How to remove the Instagram Parental Supervision feature?
1. As a Parent:
- Open Instagram on your device
- Go to your profile and click on the three-line icon
- Select the Settings section
- Tap on Supervision
- Under Accounts, tap on the account you want to remove
- Scroll down and click Remove
- Click on the Remove Supervision option
2. As a Teen
- Open Instagram on your device
- Go to your profile and click on the three-line icon
- Select the Settings section
- Tap on Supervision
- Click Remove Supervsion
