What is Android 14 Auto-Confirm Unlock feature? How to access it

Posted on

Android 14 has an interesting Auto-confirm unlock feature which acts as an extra option for your PIN input method. Similar to the iPhone’s automatic confirmation, this function quickly unlocks your device without tapping on the “Confirm” option.

It is worth mentioning that the respective capability is only available to those who pick the PIN option rather than biometric or any other lock style. Consequently, you will need a 6 or more digits password to use this new feature on your handset.

How to access the Auto-Confirm Unlock feature in Android 14?

  • Head to the Settings app on your device
  • Select Security & Privacy
  • Tap on the Device Unlock option
  • Ensure to set a 6 or more-digit PIN on the lock screen
  • Click on the settings icon next to the screen lock
  • Turn on the toggle for the auto-confirm unlock option

Once enabled, the phone will automatically unlock as soon as you enter the PIN, without requiring you to hit the Continue tab.
