Samsung prepares Galaxy Watch 4 for 5th One UI 6 Beta update; Truecaller now identifies unknown callers on Galaxy Watches

Top 3 Key Points:

  • Fifth Beta Preparation: Samsung updates the Galaxy Watch 4 Plugin to prepare for the next One UI 6 Watch beta.
  • Enhanced Stability: The upcoming One UI 6 beta is expected to be more stable.
  • Truecaller Integration: Truecaller now shows unknown caller information directly on Galaxy Watches.

Samsung is gearing up to release the fifth beta update for its Galaxy Watch 4 series, which will run on the latest One UI 6 Watch software, based on Wear OS 5. This follows the initial release in June and three subsequent beta versions that have introduced several improvements.

To prepare for this update, Samsung has rolled out an update to the Galaxy Watch 4 Plugin, which is essential for receiving the upcoming beta. Users can update this plugin directly from the Google Play Store.

According to a post on Samsung’s Korean Community forum by the Beta Operation Manager, the next beta is expected to bring even greater stability to the software. While this is anticipated, as each new beta generally refines the experience, it’s a positive development for users awaiting the official release.

In addition to software updates, Samsung Galaxy Watches now offer enhanced functionality through Truecaller. The Truecaller app, which identifies unknown callers, has now been made available for Wear OS. This means that Galaxy Watch users can see the names and details of unknown callers directly on their smartwatch. This is particularly useful in scenarios where your phone is out of reach, such as during workouts.

To enable this feature, users can install the Truecaller app from the Play Store on their Galaxy Watch. It’s important to note that the Truecaller app must also be installed on your paired smartphone for it to work seamlessly on your wearable device.
