Top 3 Key Points:

  1. One UI 6.1.1 Update: Brings new camera and AI features to older Galaxy devices.
  2. Enhanced Camera Tools: Flex Cam, Instant Slow-mo, and advanced photo editing tools are now available on select models.
  3. Rollout Schedule: Available for Galaxy S24 from September 9, with more devices and regions to follow.

Samsung has officially rolled out its One UI 6.1.1 update, bringing advanced features like AI-driven tools and improved camera functions to a broader range of Galaxy devices. Initially exclusive to newer models like the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6, these enhancements will now be available on devices like the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23, and Galaxy Tab S9, among others.

New Camera and Gallery Features

The One UI 6.1.1 update introduces several upgrades to the camera and gallery, making it easier to capture and enhance photos and videos. One of the standout features is Flex Cam, which offers automatic zoom functionality, allowing users to shoot like a camcorder. However, this feature is only available on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Flip 6.

Another key addition is Instant Slow-mo in HDR video, allowing users to capture and share slow-motion videos more easily without needing to save them first. Supported devices for this feature include the Galaxy Z Fold 5/6, Flip 5/6, and the Galaxy S23/S24 series.

In the gallery, Live Effects adds a 3D touch to photos with people and animals, while Motion Clipper lets users create GIFs and moving stickers by selecting sections of a motion photo.

Advanced AI Tools and Editing Features

The update brings enhancements to the Photo Editor, introducing a Portrait Studio feature that lets users apply various styles to photos using AI. Another creative tool, Convert Sketch, allows users to overlay hand-drawn sketches onto images.

Samsung has also introduced Overlay Translation, which maintains the original text and background color of an image, making it easier to translate content while keeping the visual integrity intact. This feature is supported on several devices, including the Galaxy S22, S23, and Tab S8/S9 series.

Rollout Timeline

The One UI 6.1.1 update started rolling out for Galaxy S24 users in South Korea on September 5, with a broader release scheduled for the US and Europe on September 9. Other regions and devices, such as the Galaxy S23 and Z Fold 5, will receive the update in the following weeks.

This update reflects Samsung’s commitment to delivering enhanced productivity, creativity, and communication tools to its users, regardless of whether they own the latest flagship model or an older Galaxy device.
