Samsung has started releasing new software updates for its Galaxy S20 FE and S21 series. The Galaxy S20 FE, including the 5G version, is receiving the September 2024 security patch, addressing 67 security vulnerabilities. This update also improves overall device stability and performance.

Currently, the update is available for the Galaxy S20 FE model in Central America (model SM-G780G) under firmware version G780GXXSCEXI1. The S20 FE 5G in the U.S. (model SM-G781U) is also receiving the update with firmware version G781USQSIHXH2. You can manually check for the update by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install.

Samsung is expected to expand this update to other regions and models in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S21 series, including the S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra, is also receiving a security update for September 2024. However, this update does not include One UI 6.1.1 features, which many users were anticipating. Instead, it focuses solely on security enhancements. Samsung has indicated that One UI 6.1.1, with its advanced features, will likely be reserved for newer models like the Galaxy S23 and Z series, alongside the upcoming Android 15 and One UI 7.0.

As of now, the One UI 6.1.1 update is confirmed for Galaxy S and Galaxy Z devices launched in 2022 and later, as well as the Galaxy Tab S8 and Tab S9 series. It is already rolling out to the Galaxy S23 series, Fold 5, Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9, with more devices expected to receive it soon.

The September security patch for the Galaxy S21 series is first available in Europe, and will gradually be released in other regions. The update can be identified by build number G99xBXXSCGXH7 and is available for download through the phone’s Settings » Software update menu.

Samsung is continuing its commitment to regular software updates, ensuring users benefit from improved security and performance across a wide range of devices.
