Top 3 Key Points:
- Galaxy Z Flip 5 now supports AI wallpapers on both the cover and foldable displays.
- Always On Display (AOD), wallpapers are available but limited to 5 seconds on the cover screen.
- Update rolling out globally for Galaxy Z Flip 5 and other 2023 Galaxy devices.
With the new One UI 6.1.1 update, Samsung has expanded the functionality of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 by allowing AI-generated wallpapers on its cover screen. Previously, these Galaxy AI wallpapers were limited to the main display when the One UI 6.1 version was released. Now, users can apply these dynamic wallpapers to both the foldable display and the cover screen.
In addition to this enhancement, One UI 6.1.1 introduces support for Always On Display (AOD) wallpapers on the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s cover screen. However, there’s a small limitation: AOD wallpapers are only displayed for five seconds on the cover screen, just like on the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
To use AOD wallpapers, make sure that AOD is set to the “Tap to show” setting. This can be enabled by navigating to Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Always On Display.
For those wanting to create custom AI wallpapers for the cover screen, the process is simple. Head to Settings > Cover screen, tap Add new, and select Generative under the “Create with AI” option. The creation method here works the same as it does for the main display.
This One UI 6.1.1 update is now being rolled out globally for the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Users can download it by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. The update is also available for other devices launched in 2023, such as the Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
