Galaxy S25 Ultra gets Satellite SOS, others don’t

Posted on

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra is getting a big upgrade: satellite communication. This means you can send emergency messages even when there’s no regular phone signal.

Qualcomm and MediaTek are also releasing new chips soon, which might be used in these phones.

The Galaxy S25 series has passed certification in China, confirming satellite communication for the Ultra model. It’s not clear yet if it will use BeiDou or TianTong for satellite connection.

The Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus won’t have satellite SOS. They also won’t come with a charger in the box, only a cable. The Ultra and models might have faster charging (45W), while the base model could be 25W.

Satellite SOS is a feature that lets you send emergency messages using satellites. It might be free for a while but could cost money later.

Google and Verizon are also working on satellite communication for their phones. Apple already has it in some models, and Huawei has it in a few models.

Overall, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is getting a cool new feature that could be very helpful in emergencies.
