Enhanced security features coming to Auto Blocker in Samsung’s One UI 7.0
Samsung’s One UI 7.0 update is set to bring stronger security enhancements to Galaxy devices, particularly through its Auto Blocker feature. The current Auto Blocker (version 1.1.00.28), released with One UI 6.1.1, introduced advanced security tools for Galaxy devices, like the “Maximum Restrictions” mode, which adds significant protection layers.
Introduced this summer, Maximum Restrictions mode was designed to restrict certain device functions to bolster security. For example, it limits the actions of device administrator apps and work profiles, enhancing control over how apps can manage device settings and data when the mode is active.
According to the latest changelog for Auto Blocker version 1.1.00.28, additional security features are set to be available in One UI 7.0. These include:
- Blocking USB Connections – Although USB blocking exists now, One UI 7.0 could refine or extend this feature.
- Blocking 2G Networks – Adds a layer of protection against potential security vulnerabilities found in older network protocols.
- Blocking Auto-Connection to Unsecured Wi-Fi – This setting stops automatic reconnections to networks that don’t meet secure standards.
Samsung is likely to release the One UI 7.0 update early next year, with beta testing expected to begin soon. These enhanced features mark a move toward even tighter security in Samsung’s ecosystem, providing users with more control over how their devices interact with external networks and hardware.
This expanded Auto Blocker feature in One UI 7.0 promises to improve data security and device integrity, aligning with Samsung’s ongoing efforts to offer robust protection for Galaxy users.
