One UI 7 brings enhanced Samsung Parental Controls and next-gen Bixby with smarter features

Posted on

Samsung is preparing its apps for the launch of One UI 7, based on Android 15, by rolling out updates to ensure smooth compatibility and enhanced functionality. Among these, the Samsung Parental Controls app and a new generation of Bixby are getting significant upgrades that promise to make Galaxy devices even more user-friendly.

Enhanced Samsung Parental Controls for One UI 7

With One UI 7 on the horizon, Samsung has released version 2.4.80.4 of its Parental Controls app. This update ensures that the app remains compatible with the new features and settings of One UI 7, ensuring it won’t face compatibility issues or crashes once the new software version is live.

Samsung’s Parental Controls app is designed to help parents monitor and manage their children’s Galaxy device usage. It provides features such as permission management, real-time notifications, and control over Samsung accounts for minors. The latest update not only prepares the app for One UI 7 but also improves its overall performance by fixing bugs and optimizing its functionality.

To install the latest version, Galaxy users can head to the Galaxy Store, open the “Menu” option, and tap “Updates” to check for the latest version. Third-party app links are also an option for those preferring alternative methods.

Samsung’s preemptive approach to these updates aims to minimize any disruption to user experience when One UI 7 is released. As the beta version nears, more Samsung apps are likely to receive updates for seamless integration with Android 15, giving users a smoother and more enriched experience.

Introducing the Next-Generation Bixby with One UI 7

Samsung has also announced a major update to its virtual assistant, Bixby, currently available on the Galaxy W25 and W25 Flip foldable phones in China. This upgraded version of Bixby leverages advanced large language models (LLMs) to improve its natural language processing capabilities, making it smarter and more responsive to complex user commands.

The next-gen Bixby can understand and respond to conversational queries. For example, a user could say, “It’s cloudy outside; what should I wear today?” Bixby will interpret the weather condition and provide a suggestion, such as wearing a raincoat if rain is expected. It can also understand follow-up questions, like, “How long will it take to get there?” without needing additional context, making it a more intuitive virtual assistant.

One of the standout features in the upgraded Bixby is its screen awareness. For instance, if you’re in a chat discussing a place to meet, you can tell Bixby, “Navigate here,” and it will automatically locate the address on your screen and initiate navigation. This feature is particularly helpful for streamlining actions based on the context of what’s displayed.

The new Bixby interface has also received a facelift. It now uses a full-screen layout, where users can interact using text or voice. The refreshed design includes helpful suggestions at the top of the screen, accessible from any app. Bixby can assist with tasks like translating a webpage, drafting a document, or managing your schedule—all while maintaining a consistent, modern design.

Samsung’s Vision for Future Updates

Samsung’s latest efforts in updating Parental Controls and Bixby for One UI 7 reflect a focus on delivering an enhanced user experience that aligns with the anticipated Android 15 features. As One UI 7’s beta rolls out and Samsung prepares for its full release, Galaxy users can look forward to smoother app performance, more comprehensive device control, and a smarter Bixby that can integrate more naturally into daily tasks.

By continuously updating its app ecosystem, Samsung ensures that Galaxy devices are equipped for a seamless transition to One UI 7, bringing improved support, functionality, and AI-driven assistance right to users’ fingertips.
