Posted on

Samsung is gearing up to launch its One UI 7, based on Android 15, expected to roll out in early 2025 alongside the Galaxy S25 series. This update brings significant changes, introducing a refreshed interface and several new features designed to enhance the user experience.

User Notifications and Features Overview

Samsung has started notifying Galaxy users about upcoming features even before the official release. These notifications appear in certain apps like the AR Zone, alerting users about changes to existing features. For example, the update will remove certain AR Zone features like Quick Measure, Deco Pic, and AR Doodle. Although these features will be removed from the main app, users can still access them as standalone apps from the Galaxy Store.

Key Changes in One UI 7

  1. Interface Redesign: The One UI 7 update will bring a major redesign with updated icons, smoother animations, and a more intuitive layout. This includes a revamped notification panel, where notifications and quick settings might be split into two sections, enhancing usability.
  2. AI Integration: Samsung is focusing heavily on integrating AI features throughout its apps. Expect enhancements in Bixby, Gallery, Camera, and other Samsung apps with features like AI-based image enhancement, real-time suggestions, and personalized user assistance. For instance, AI-driven notification summaries may help users manage alerts more effectively, improving overall productivity.
  3. Rebranding and Feature Changes: Samsung is rebranding its AR Emoji feature to Galaxy Avatar, aligning with its new approach to user personalization. The rebranding aims to offer a more versatile and customized avatar experience, although its availability might vary based on device and region.

Beta Program and Release Date
The One UI 7 beta program is expected to start in mid-November 2024. This will allow selected Galaxy users to test out the features and provide feedback before the stable version is released. The final launch is expected in January 2025, aligning with the release of the Galaxy S25 series.

User Experience Improvements
The update aims to provide a more cohesive and seamless user experience. Samsung’s new vertical app drawer and improved battery optimization are some of the other highlighted enhancements. Additionally, the camera app will receive upgrades such as advanced video editing features and better low-light performance, catering to users who frequently use the camera for various purposes.

With these updates, Samsung’s One UI 7 looks set to offer a more refined, AI-enhanced experience, making Galaxy devices even more user-friendly and efficient. Keep an eye on official announcements and notifications on your Galaxy device for more updates about the upcoming features.
