Samsung begins testing Android 15 for Galaxy S23 series

Samsung has officially started testing Android 15 for the Galaxy S23 series, with firmware appearing on the company’s servers. This marks a significant step toward the release of One UI 7.0, which will bring Google’s latest Android features alongside Samsung’s enhancements.

Earlier reports hinted at development activity when the Galaxy S23 Ultra was benchmarked running Android 15 in mid-2024. However, concrete evidence of firmware testing has only emerged recently, as Samsung prepares for the upcoming rollout of One UI 7.0.

Expected Timeline for Android 15 and One UI 7.0

The One UI 7.0 beta program will initially roll out to the Galaxy S24 series, expected in late 2024. Galaxy S23 series owners should follow shortly, likely before the stable version becomes available in early 2025. Devices such as the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 will also join this beta program.

The stable release of One UI 7.0 for Galaxy devices will align with the Galaxy S25’s launch. Samsung has extended its testing period for this update, ensuring polished functionality.

Eligible Devices and Update Features

Samsung remains committed to supporting a wide range of devices with Android 15. Flagships like the Galaxy S23 and S24 series, along with the Z Flip and Fold lines, will lead the update cycle. Mid-range models such as the Galaxy A and M series will also receive Android 15 under Samsung’s four-year update policy.

With One UI 7.0, users can expect improved UI aesthetics, enhanced multitasking features, and deeper AI-driven customizations. Integration with Android 15’s privacy and notification features is also anticipated.

Samsung’s dedication to regular updates, including the latest monthly security patches, further reinforces its position as a leader in Android software development.

This extended testing phase signals a robust update, set to redefine user experiences on Galaxy devices in 2025.
