Open Beta 1 (XKZ) Animation:

  • Movements feel stiff and unnatural.
  • Icons transition sharply into place, lacking fluidity.
  • The animations fail to mimic real-world physical motion, making them appear unpolished.

Internal Testing Version (XKN) Animation:

  • Features smooth and elegant unfolding transitions.
  • Includes a deceleration effect, giving animations a more dynamic and “floating” feel.
  • The overall effect is more refined and similar to the smoothness seen in iOS animations.

The insider expressed disappointment with the animation choice for the Open Beta, suggesting that the internal testing version delivers a far superior user experience.

Samsung seems to have reserved the smoother animations for future beta updates. Beta participants can look forward to several updates before the stable release, which is planned for early 2025. Users are encouraged to share their feedback to help Samsung refine the final product.

Samsung plans to roll out the stable version of One UI 7 in the first quarter of 2025, coinciding with the expected launch of the Galaxy S25 series in late January. Once the public release begins, it could extend into February, covering a wide range of Galaxy devices, starting from the Galaxy S21 series.
