Samsung prioritizes Galaxy S25 production over Z Flip 7 in 2025

Posted on

Samsung appears to be shifting its smartphone production strategy for 2025, focusing more on its traditional Galaxy S25 lineup than the foldable Galaxy Z Flip 7. Leaked production plans indicate a significant difference in manufacturing volumes between the two lines.

Samsung’s projected production numbers reveal a strong emphasis on the Galaxy S25 series: 14.8 million units of the S25, 6.6 million of the S25 Plus, and a substantial 16 million of the high-end S25 Ultra. In contrast, the Z Flip 7 is slated for a much lower production run of just 3 million units. This means Samsung plans to produce more than five times as many Galaxy S25 phones as Z Flip 7 devices.

This strategic shift suggests Samsung may be recalibrating its approach to the foldable market. While the company has been a pioneer in foldable technology, potentially lower-than-expected demand for these devices could be prompting a return to prioritizing its established flagship models. This strategy allows Samsung to balance innovation with the reliable sales of its traditional smartphones.

Several factors may contribute to this decision. The foldable market, while growing, faces competition, including potential future entry from competitors like Apple. Additionally, Chinese brands are increasingly challenging Samsung’s dominance in this space. By focusing on the S25 series, Samsung aims to maintain strong sales figures in the broader smartphone market.

While rumored, the Galaxy S25 series launch is anticipated around January 22nd in the United States.
