Samsung has begun rolling out the December 2024 security patch for its Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra models in Europe, with wider availability expected soon. This update focuses on enhancing system security and stability by addressing over 45 security vulnerabilities identified by Google and Samsung. The update is around 260MB and can be installed via the phone’s software update settings.
In related news, Samsung has also updated its One UI Home launcher app (version 16.0.00.203) for devices running One UI 7 (based on Android 15), currently available for Galaxy S24 users testing the One UI 7 Beta. This update aims to improve app performance, stability, and security, delivering a smoother user experience.
Furthermore, the One UI 7 Beta 2 update for the Galaxy S24 series removes the “Secured by Knox” watermark from the app drawer. This watermark, introduced in Beta 1, was met with user feedback requesting its removal. Samsung addressed this concern in Beta 2. The Beta 2 update also includes fixes for various other issues related to features like the Now Bar, display, DeX, widgets, GPS, Game Booster, animations, Samsung Messages, and the Calls app.
The One UI 7 Beta program is currently available in select countries, including the US, Germany, UK, Korea, India, and Poland.
