Samsung expects modest Galaxy S25 sales, focuses on AI notifications

Samsung is preparing for the launch of its Galaxy S25 series, with a potential launch date of January 22nd. While expecting a slight sales increase for the S25 lineup compared to the S24, the company is less optimistic about the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Production targets suggest Samsung anticipates shipping 37.4 million S25 units (14.8 million S25, 6.6 million S25+, and 16 million S25 Ultra), a modest 10% increase from the S24’s 35 million target. Conversely, the Z Flip 7’s production is reportedly set at 3 million units, down from the Z Flip 6’s 4.2 million target. This suggests a shift in focus towards traditional form factors. However, Samsung can adjust production based on market demand.

Leaked renders reveal the S25+ will maintain rounded corners and thin bezels, while the S25 Ultra will feature slightly more rounded corners than its predecessor. Color options for the S25 and S25+ include Blue Black, Coral Red, Icy Blue, Mint, Navy, Pink Gold, and Silver Shadow. The S25 Ultra will come in Titanium Black, Titanium Gray, Titanium Jade Green, Titanium Jet Black, Titanium Pink Gold, Titanium Silver Blue, and Titanium White Silver. All models will run One UI 7.0 based on Android 15.

A key feature of the S25 series will be a new AI Notification System powered by Galaxy AI and integrated with the “Now Bar.” This feature displays real-time, relevant information directly on the lock screen, such as schedules, music, translations, and health data. When traveling, it will provide flight times, traffic, weather, exchange rates, and personalized recommendations. Samsung emphasizes user data security through its “Personal Data Engine” and “Knox Vault,” which encrypt sensitive information.
