While Samsung is actively developing One UI 7 (based on Android 15) for its latest Galaxy S24 series, the company hasn’t forgotten its older devices. A new update for the Samsung Messages app (version 14.5.44.3) is rolling out to improve performance and fix bugs.
This update specifically targets Galaxy phones running Android 13, such as the Galaxy S20 series. Although the S20 series, launched in 2020, has received its final major Android updates and now receives quarterly security updates, Samsung is still providing app updates to enhance the user experience. This shows their commitment to supporting older models.
The Samsung Messages update can be installed through the Galaxy Store’s “Updates” section. While third-party downloads might be available, it’s recommended to use the official update method for security and stability. This update may eventually reach other Galaxy devices still using Android 13.
