One UI 7 brings Display enhancements, Wi-Fi password fix, and Beta 3 updates

Samsung’s One UI 7 brings several notable improvements, including display customization, a more convenient way to view Wi-Fi passwords and ongoing beta updates.

New Display Assistant Beta App:

One UI 7 introduces a “Display Assistant Beta” app within Galaxy Labs. This tool offers advanced screen personalization options, some of which were previously found in Good Guardians. Features include:

  • Adjusting brightness duration and response speed.
  • Brightness control at high temperatures.
  • “Curtain Mode” for reduced eye strain.
  • 60Hz refresh rate lock for specific apps to improve battery life.
  • A one-click, 30-minute screen-on feature.

This app is available for One UI 7 beta users via the Galaxy Store within Galaxy Labs.

Simplified Wi-Fi Password Access:

One UI 7 simplifies accessing saved Wi-Fi passwords. Previously, users had to enter a PIN or pattern, even with biometric authentication enabled. Now, users can use fingerprint or facial recognition to view saved Wi-Fi passwords in the Wi-Fi settings’ advanced menu.

One UI 7 Beta Updates:

The One UI 7 beta program is ongoing, with Beta 2 already released.  Speculation suggests Beta 3 might arrive around December 23, 2024. Beta 2 included minor UI tweaks and animation improvements. Future betas are expected to address bugs, enhance performance, and potentially address user feedback regarding UI elements like the “Now Bar.” While the S24 series currently has access to the Beta, it’s possible the Beta program will expand to other Samsung devices like the S23, S22, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6 in future updates.
