Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Series to Feature TSMC-Made 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 might come with a powerful new chip called the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. According to recent reports, this chip will be made by TSMC using their super-advanced 3nm technology.

Analyst Jukanlosreve suggests that Samsung isn’t ready to trust its own manufacturing for this chip. Earlier, Samsung hoped to use their own Exynos 2500 for the Galaxy S25, but issues with production quality meant they had to stick with Qualcomm’s chips.

For now, all Galaxy S25 models will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. This chip is pricier than the last one, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, because of the advanced 3nm process TSMC uses, which is better than the 4nm tech used before.

Samsung is working on fixing these manufacturing hiccups with their 3nm tech, hoping to use the Exynos 2500 in the Galaxy Z Flip 7. If they can sort out these problems, we might see an Exynos 2600 in future devices. If not, Qualcomm’s chips will continue to lead.

The Galaxy S25 is launching very soon, and while there are worries about price increases due to the costlier chips, it looks like prices might stay the same or only go up a little in some places.

The new Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 promises to make the phone’s processor 20% faster than the current model and enhance gaming with better graphics. Qualcomm plans to roll out this chip later this year.
