Last year, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra came with a special screen treatment called Gorilla Armor that made it easier to see in bright light and more resistant to scratches. Unfortunately, the regular Galaxy S25 and S25+ didn’t get this upgrade in 2025.
The new Galaxy S25 Ultra has an even better version called Gorilla Armor 2, which is supposed to be stronger and better at reducing glare. But the S25 and S25+? They stick with the same old Gorilla Glass Victus 2, both on the front and back. Victus 2 is good, but it doesn’t have the special anti-glare feature.
So, if you’re thinking about upgrading, the lack of this shiny new screen tech might not be a big deal, especially if you’re coming from an older model. However, it does mean the S25 and S25+ look a lot like last year’s phones.
On the bright side, Samsung made some cool camera updates this year. Now, even the base S25 and S25+ can record video in LOG mode, just like the Ultra. LOG mode is a hit with video pros because it captures more detail, giving you lots of room to play with colors later in editing.
This mode makes videos look a bit dull at first, but that’s the point – you get more control over the final look. You can do all this editing right in Samsung’s Gallery app or any other video-editing software.
So, while the S25 and S25+ might not have the best screen tech, they do offer advanced video recording features that were once only on the Ultra. If you’re into video but don’t need the best zoom, you might not need to go for the Ultra for that extra feature.
Overall, the S25 series brings some pro-level video tools to all its phones, making it a good choice for anyone interested in video editing without spending more on the top model.
