Samsung Now Bar

Discovering the amazing Now Bar on Samsung phones

Samsung has just shown off the full potential of their new Now Bar feature at the 2025 Unpacked event, and it’s even better than what we saw during the testing phase of One UI 7.0.

The Now Bar lets you see live updates from apps like the clock and recorder right on your phone’s lock screen. It’s shaped like a little pill and sits nicely between the shortcut buttons at the bottom of the screen.

It’s not just about looking good; the Now Bar is interactive too. For example, if you’re playing music, you’ll see buttons to skip tracks or pause the song, plus a picture of the album cover.

Before the big reveal, the Now Bar was only working with a few basic apps like timers and health checks. But now, Samsung has expanded it to include more system services and even apps from other developers, like reminders. You can also use it to get quick directions or set up your work schedule with just one tap.

Here’s a cool part: if you’re into sports, Now Bar will show live scores from Google Sports for your favorite teams that you’ve added to your Google account. This makes the Now Bar much more useful than when it was just in the testing phase.

Another addition is Now Brief, a smart feature that gives you a daily summary of things like weather, health stats, and other important info based on how you use your phone. It shows up right after you turn on your screen in the morning.

The Now Bar comes with the One UI 7.0 update, so most Samsung devices can use it. But there might be even more apps and features added with the help of outside developers. Remember, some of the AI stuff might not work on every device, though.
