Samsung has released a fresh software update for its 2021 flip phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 3, introducing the January 2025 security patch. This update fixes several problems, making your phone safer to use.
This update is available for both the global version of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the US versions, whether they are locked to a carrier or not. The model numbers for these versions are SM-F711B, SM-F711U, and SM-F711U1. When you install this update, the software version will change to F711BXXSBIXLA for the international model, F711USQSAJXLA for the carrier-locked US model, and F711U1UESAJXLA for the unlocked US model.
If you have one of these Galaxy Z Flip 3 models, you’ll likely get a notification on your phone telling you there’s an update available. Just tap on it, then select “Download and install.” If you don’t see the notification, you can manually check for updates by going to your phone’s Settings, then Software update, and choosing Download and install. There’s also the option to download the update files from an online database and install them yourself using a program called Odin.
Samsung has recently unveiled the Galaxy S25 series, which comes with Android 15 and One UI 7.0. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is on the list to get this new software soon. To stay updated on when this happens, you might want to follow Samsung’s updates through their Telegram or WhatsApp channels.
